    Nigeria’s anticorruption watchdog has dismissed greater than 40 of its personal workers for alleged corruption and monetary misconduct over the previous three years.

    Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of Nigeria’s Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) revealed the dismissals throughout an occasion highlighting the company’s achievements on Monday.

    The EFCC is a Nigerian regulation enforcement and anticorruption company that investigates monetary crimes, together with advance payment fraud, cash laundering and corruption. It has investigated politicians and different officers accused of misappropriating public funds.

    “The fee acquired 49,673 petitions, investigated 39,615 instances, filed 14,476 instances in court docket and secured 10,872 convictions between October 2023 and July 2026,” Olukoyede stated.

    Within the first half of 2026 alone, it had recorded 1,370 convictions from 1,889 filings, the EFCC chairman added.
