    The U.S. Supreme Court docket late Thursday blocked President-elect Donald Trump’s last-ditch try to stave off his felony sentencing, which is ready for Friday in New York, 10 days earlier than his inauguration.

    The nation’s highest court docket, in a 5-4 choice, declined Trump’s request to halt his felony sentencing. Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh dissented. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined with the court docket’s three liberals – Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson – to disclaim the request.
