    US military says Iran war has led to munitions shortfall

    WASHINGTON: The US Protection Division’s inspector common revealed Monday (Sep 14) that the USA is going through a shortfall in ammunition because of its expensive conflict in Iran.

    In a first-of-its-kind obligatory report back to Congress, the inspector stated that between Feb 28 and Jun 30, Operation Epic Fury (OEF) had an estimated value of US$33.4 billion, with US$22.3 billion of that spent on expended munitions alone.

    The report famous “the munitions expenditure on OEF has resulted in strategic stock shortfalls and revealed industrial base bottlenecks for munitions resupply”.

    It additionally lists losses to the American fleet, together with 4 F-15s destroyed, one F-35 broken, seven KC-135 tanker plane broken and as much as 30 MQ-9 Reaper drones destroyed.

    President Donald Trump has repeatedly dismissed considerations of depleted weapons shops through the six months of conflict within the Center East, saying the US has “nearly limitless” ammo only a couple weeks in the past.

    On Monday Trump posted to his Fact Social platform saying once more the US is producing “extra Beautiful and Elite Weapons than at any time in our Historical past”.
