    Re: “Dump the labels and listen” (Nov. 9, Opinion):

    I simply wished to say thanks for working this op-ed. The final paragraph actually struck residence with me.

    It generally helps me to recall that this isn’t the primary main rift this nation has overcome. Within the final century alone, we had the Pink Scare, the Vietnam Conflict, the struggle in Iraq, the “hanging chads” decision to a hotly contested election, and so many different points that divided us. We recovered from all of them, and we’ll get better from this as nicely.

    It helps to maintain a way of perspective in these troubling occasions.
