The largest hazard dealing with mankind is a machine that may “outsmart the entire species”, argues Max Tegmark, professor of physics on the Massachusetts Institute of Know-how and founding father of the Way forward for Life Institute.
Tegmark tells host Steve Clemons that governments and tech firms are in a “race to interchange” human labour, as a substitute of fixing human issues. “It’s geared toward getting extra money and energy to a really small variety of people,” he says.
However a slew of suicides and murders dedicated by individuals chatting with AI chatbots has led to pushback towards the Silicon Valley “don’t regulate us” foyer.
