Re: “Don’t count on regime change to stabilize Venezuela” (Nov. 16, Opinion):

America by no means learns. That’s all I can say about President Donald Trump’s newest tried distraction from his Jeffrey Epstein woes.

Attacking Venezuela to overthrow the regime of Nicolas Maduro could be one other idiot’s errand of American international coverage. The concept of eradicating Maduro will blow up in our faces and trigger additional chaos in an already dysfunctional society.

Venezuelans stream overseas heading north to America and attacking that nation will solely enhance the outflow of refugees.

Even with failures in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and lots of different nations, America’s try to affect has not taught American warmongers any helpful classes.

Repeating the identical errors again and again however anticipating a unique consequence is an ideal definition of madness.

    Richard B. Ellenberger, Normandy Park
