It anticipated issuing a draft evaluation by April, however publication was delayed as opposition to the plan by environmental teams surged. A petition calling for the Air Power to desert the plan had garnered 3,884 signatures as of Wednesday.

“The Division of the Air Power has elected to carry the preparation of the Johnston Atoll Environmental Evaluation for a proposed rocket cargo touchdown demonstration on Johnston Atoll in abeyance whereas the service explores different choices for implementation of the rocket cargo Vanguard program at a location aside from Johnston Atoll,” Laurel Falls, an Air Power spokeswoman, stated in an e mail assertion Wednesday.

“A notification might be revealed by way of Federal Register if the DAF decides to restart the motion or in the end cancel the Environmental Evaluation,” she stated.

Falls was unable to offer a motive for the expanded website search throughout a cellphone interview Wednesday.
