    WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump and Chinese language President Xi Jinping will communicate quickly to iron out commerce points together with a dispute over crucial minerals, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent mentioned on Sunday (Jun 1).

    Trump on Friday accused China of violating an agreement with the US to mutually roll again tariffs and commerce restrictions for crucial minerals.

    “What China is doing is they’re holding again merchandise which might be important for the economic provide chains of India, of Europe. And that’s not what a dependable accomplice does,” Bessent mentioned in an interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation”.

    “I’m assured that when President Trump and Occasion Chairman Xi have a name, that this shall be ironed out. However the truth that they’re withholding a number of the merchandise that they agreed to launch throughout our settlement – possibly it is a glitch within the Chinese language system, possibly it is intentional. We’ll see after the President communicates with the occasion chairman.”
