    SEOUL: South Korea is unable to pay US$350 billion upfront in funding in the US as President Donald Trump recommended underneath a deal to chop tariffs and is looking for an alternate resolution, Seoul’s presidential adviser stated on Saturday (Sep 27).

    Since a handshake deal by the allies’ leaders in July to lower US tariffs to 15 per cent from 25 per cent, as Trump earlier imposed, South Korea has stated the US$350 billion in funding can be within the type of loans and mortgage ensures in addition to fairness.

    Trump, in remarks this week, stated South Korea would provide the investment “upfront”, regardless of Seoul’s rivalry that type of outlay may plunge Asia’s fourth-largest economic system right into a monetary disaster.
