    A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has struck japanese Afghanistan, with early reviews indicating that at the least 10 individuals had been killed and 20 others injured, in line with sources.

    The tremor shook the Kunar and Nangahar province at about midnight native time on Monday, native sources informed Al Jazeera, with important injury reported throughout a number of districts within the mountainous areas.

    America Geological Survey mentioned the 6.0 magnitude quake was centred 27 kilometres (17 miles) east of town of Jalalabad within the Nangahar province.

    Al Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder, reporting from neighbouring Pakistan, mentioned the devastation from the earthquake was prone to be excessive because the tremor struck at a shallow depth.
