    Norway’s King Haakon honours ‘dear father’ Harald in first speech as sovereign

    TOLERANCE AND INCLUSIVENESS

    Since Harald’s passing, folks have streamed of their tens of hundreds to say goodbye to the late king on the royal palace, the place he lies in state, with many well-wishers remembering his sense of inclusiveness and tolerance.

    Flags have been flying at half-mast all through the nation and portraits of the late king in gala uniform may very well be seen at bus stops, trams and metro stations to retailers, workplaces and public buildings.

    “It embodies the best way he felt about folks and the best way he needed us Norwegians to really feel about one another,” mentioned Mari Eidsvaag, 32, who wore a T-shirt emblazoned with that sentence, a rainbow and a drawing of King Harald.

    “I believe it is an important assertion, particularly today,” she instructed Reuters.
