    Jamaica secures $6.7bn for hurricane recovery and reconstruction plan | Banks News

    Jamaica has secured as much as $6.7bn in assist from worldwide companies to fund reconstruction over the subsequent three years within the wake of Hurricane Melissa in October.

    Hurricane Melissa introduced damages equal to 30 p.c of Jamaica’s gross home product (GDP), in response to the United Nations Improvement Programme (UNDP).

    Melissa was the strongest storm to hit the island nation in more than 170 years.
