    Iran and Qatar resume maritime trade, Iranian state media reports

    DOHA: Maritime commerce between Iran and Qatar resumed after a roughly five-month suspension, Iran’s business attaché in Doha informed state media on Sunday (July 5).

    An interim deal between Tehran and Washington signed final month introduced the tip of hostilities after a four-month battle and mandated a return to pre-war maritime site visitors within the Gulf. Nevertheless, transit in and out of the Gulf remains contested.

    Abbas Abdolkhani stated transport between Iran’s Dayyer port and Qatar’s Al Ruwais port had resumed following coordination between the Iranian embassy in Doha and Qatari authorities.

    The two geographically reverse ports primarily cater to regional commerce. Dayyer port was hit a number of instances throughout the conflict.

    In late June, an official from the Commerce Promotion Organisation of Iran informed state media that Iranian items have been lastly being cleared on the United Arab Emirates’ Jebel Ali Port, the biggest within the area, pointing to a gradual return of commerce between the Gulf’s two sides.
