    India readies for punishing US tariffs

    MUMBAI: Indian exports to america will face a number of the highest tariffs on the planet this week, barring a last-minute reversal from President Donald Trump.

    Trump has tied problems with struggle and peace to commerce, threatening to slap 50 per cent duties on New Delhi in retaliation for its continued purchases of Russian oil – which Washington argues assist finance Moscow’s struggle in Ukraine.
