    An unlawful immigrant has been jailed in Virginia after allegedly struggling with a police officer and making an attempt to take the officer’s gun.

    Suspect Nehemia Noel Fuentes-Banegas is a legal unlawful alien from Honduras, in keeping with a Division of Homeland Safety news release.

    “This legal unlawful alien from Honduras attacked a regulation enforcement officer and tried to take the officer’s gun,” Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis stated.

    “He has now been charged with tried disarming of a regulation enforcement officer. ICE is looking on Governor Abigail Spanberger and her fellow sanctuary politicians to decide to not releasing this harmful legal from jail. Governor Spanberger’s sanctuary insurance policies have made the Commonwealth a magnet for unlawful alien crime,” she added.

    Fuentes-Banegas illegally entered the USA in 2022. After crossing into Texas, the Biden administration launched him into the nation, the DHS launch stated.

    In line with Fairfax County Police, officers have been referred to as to a residence in Annandale, Virginia, after receiving a report of a home incident that concerned a knife.

    Police stated arriving officers have been advised that Fuentes-Banegas, 26, of Annandale, had two knives and had stabbed himself earlier than leaving the residence.

    As officers searched a wooded space, Fuentes-Banegas emerged from an overgrown space of heavy brush, the discharge stated.

    An officer was grabbed by the arm by the suspect, who allegedly tried to disarm him.

    Throughout the scuffle, the officer fired his weapon, wounding the suspect. A second officer fired his taser at Fuentes-Banegas.

    Police stated the officer who fired a gun is a 12-year veteran of the division who serves within the K9 unit.

    Fuentes-Banegas was taken to a neighborhood hospital for remedy earlier than he was jailed.
