    Re: “Trump loves that ‘Colbert got fired,’ hopes Kimmel is next” (July 18, Nation & World):

    Watching Stephen Colbert lose his platform, whereas President Donald Trump celebrates and requires different critics to be fired, is a chilling second for American democracy. This isn’t nearly TV exhibits — it’s about silencing dissent.

    When satire turns into too dangerous, and corporations cave to political stress, we edge nearer to authoritarianism. We should get up, communicate up and educate ourselves to vote for leaders who present honesty, sincerity and an actual dedication to reality.

    Washington state has all the time been a spot for unbiased considering. Let’s defend that. Let’s be sure that reality, compassion and equity — not worry — information our future.
