    The United Nations warns that if fertilisers can not move by the Strait of Hormuz inside only a few weeks, the world might face mass hunger.

    It says the implications could possibly be extreme if delivery disruptions linked to the Iran battle drag on.

    Meals costs are already at a three-year excessive, whereas fertiliser prices important for agriculture have rocketed.

    Support companies concern a chronic disruption might push tens of tens of millions extra individuals into starvation.
