As the US pushes its ‘America First’ agenda, its companions are edging in the direction of China and new alliances are being fashioned.

It was constructed on democracy, open markets and cooperation – with America on the helm.

However the rules-based international order created after World Struggle II is now beneath pressure. Conflicts are rising. Worldwide guidelines are being examined. Commerce tensions are escalating. And alliances are shifting.

On the centre of all of it is US President Donald Trump.

In only a few quick weeks, he’s captured Venezuela’s president, vowed to take management of Greenland, and threatened to slap tariffs on those that oppose him.

In the meantime, China is presenting itself as a steady companion.

Many warn that the worldwide order is beginning to break aside.
