    Chinese language regulators have barred TikTok-owner ByteDance from deploying Nvidia chips in new knowledge centres.

    The tech publication The Data first reported the event on Wednesday, citing two firm staff.

    The reported ban underscores Beijing’s efforts to cut back reliance on US know-how, a marketing campaign that has intensified as Washington tightens curbs on exports of superior semiconductors to China.

    In August, Chinese language regulators requested native companies to halt new orders of Nvidia AI chips and have since pushed corporations to undertake homegrown processors, Bloomberg reported, citing individuals near Chinese language tech regulators.
