Re: “We need transparency around Broadway crisis center siting” (Sept. 23, Opinion):

I agree with Bradford Augustine’s op-ed concerning the Broadway disaster heart. I stay on First Hill, and it’s changing into more difficult by the day to stay on this neighborhood. Up to now few years, there have been extra empty storefronts, extra drug paraphernalia, extra individuals on the streets affected by habit and extreme psychological sickness, extra shootings, and many others.

There have been efforts to treatment these points within the downtown vacationer district, however First Hill/Capitol Hill should not within the metropolis definition of “downtown.”

These of us who stay right here have been excluded from no matter course of there was in regards to the Broadway disaster heart. Our neighborhood is struggling, and even individuals like me who’re residing right here to assist downtown are being pushed out. I now not really feel secure taking my canine out at night time, and I’ll doubtless promote at a loss and transfer out if town refuses to work with the group to enhance security and embrace us in selections that straight affect us.
