Re: “JBLM soldiers accused of selling military secrets” (March 6, Native Information) and “2 arrested with arsenal and Nazi paraphernalia after base robbery were ex-military, prosecutors say” (June 4, Native Information):

Joint Base Lewis-McChord is the cornerstone of Tacoma. It’s our delight, our responsibility and our honor to be residence to one of many U.S. Military’s nice navy bases and to be trusted with the duty of their nice energy. However, what about JBLM’s duty to Tacoma? And to america of America?

Can we belief JBLM? That’s the query. From two active duty soldiers promoting secrets and techniques to China to former military members who had been in possession of Nazi paraphernalia waltzing off base with military-grade weapons like they checked out a library guide to a soldier murdering one of many locals to a former army commander from JBLM committing heinous acts of sexual harassment, it’s clear some troopers at this base are taking liberties with the ability that comes from being a monolith of struggle for the U.S. navy.

After Lt. Gen. Matthew McFarlane let treason occur on his watch, it makes me surprise: What else is JBLM’s present commanding normal lacking? Has there been any additional investigation into future attainable leaks and weaknesses? Is management at JBLM anxious about extra potential vulnerabilities to enemies neighboring our shores, like China, who lurk nearer than we predict?

    Kelly Nassour, Tacoma
