WASHINGTON: The US navy stated on Friday (Feb 13) it killed three alleged drug traffickers in a strike on a ship within the Caribbean, bringing the dying toll in Washington’s anti-narcotics campaign to at the least 133.

President Donald Trump’s administration started concentrating on alleged smuggling boats in early September, insisting it’s successfully at warfare with alleged “narco-terrorists” working out of Venezuela.

Dozens of strikes have been carried out since then.

Administration officers have supplied no definitive proof that the vessels are concerned in drug trafficking, prompting heated debate concerning the legality of the operations which have expanded from the Caribbean to the Pacific.

“Three narco-terrorists have been killed throughout this motion. No US navy forces have been harmed,” US Southern Command stated in an announcement on X.

The brand new strike comes almost six weeks after the capture by US particular forces of Venezuelan chief Nicolas Maduro, who had stated the American marketing campaign of strikes was aimed toward pushing regime change within the South American nation.

The leftist chief is now incarcerated within the US, the place he has pleaded not guilty to drug and weapons expenses.
