    White House warns shutdown could trigger holiday air travel chaos

    WASHINGTON: The White Home warned on Thursday (Oct 23) that the continued US government shutdown could cause major air travel disruptions over the vacation season, as hundreds of aviation employees stay unpaid.

    The 23-day shutdown has left about 13,000 air site visitors controllers and 50,000 Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) officers working with out pay. Controllers are set to overlook their first full paycheck on Tuesday.
