GAZA CITY: A video recovered from the cellphone of an assist employee killed in Gaza alongside different rescuers exhibits their closing moments, based on the Palestine Crimson Crescent, with clearly marked ambulances and emergency lights flashing as heavy gunfire erupts.

He was amongst 15 humanitarian personnel who were killed on Mar 23 in an assault by Israeli forces, based on the United Nations and the Palestine Crimson Crescent Society (PRCS).

The Israeli navy has stated its troopers “didn’t randomly assault” any ambulances, insisting they fired on “terrorists” approaching them in “suspicious autos”.

Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani stated that troops opened fireplace on autos that had no prior clearance from Israeli authorities and had their lights off.

However the video obtained by AFP on Saturday (Apr 4) seems to contradict the Israeli navy’s claims, displaying ambulances travelling with their headlights and emergency lights clearly flashing.

The video, apparently filmed from inside a shifting car, captures a crimson fireplace truck and ambulances driving by the evening.

The autos cease beside one other on the roadside, and two uniformed males exit. Moments later, intense gunfire erupts.

Within the video, the voices of two medics are heard – one saying, “the car, the car”, and one other responding: “It appears to be an accident.”

Seconds later, a volley of gunfire breaks out, and the display goes black.

PRCS vice-president Marwan Jilani informed a press convention on the UN headquarters in New York that the video was recovered from the physique of one of many deceased assist employees.

These killed included eight PRCS workers, six members of the Gaza civil defence company and one worker of the UN company for Palestinian refugees, also called UNRWA.

Their our bodies had been discovered buried close to Rafah in what the UN Workplace for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) described as a mass grave.
