Venezuela’s María Corina Machado Is Awarded 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to María Corina Machado, a pro-democracy opposition chief in exile who mobilized Venezuelans in opposition to President Nicolás Maduro’s authoritarian authorities.

“She is receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless work selling democratic rights for the individuals of Venezuela, and for her battle to realize a simply and peaceable transition from dictatorship to democracy.” “Oh my God. Nicely, I’ve no phrases. Thanks a lot. However I hope you perceive this can be a motion. That is an achievement of an entire society. I’m only one individual. I actually don’t deserve this.”
