    US judge cites ‘1984’ in ordering reinstatement of slavery exhibit

    In January, the Nationwide Park Service eliminated 34 instructional panels and deactivated video shows on the Presidential Home in Philadelphia that referenced slavery, prompting town to sue.

    “The federal government claims it alone has the ability to erase, alter, take away and conceal historic accounts,” Choose Cynthia M Rufe wrote in her Monday ruling, which cited Orwell’s defining work a few dystopian, authoritarian state.
