    LONDON: Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated on Tuesday (Feb 25) he would enhance defence spending to 2.5 per cent of GDP yearly by 2027, rising to three per cent after 2029, a transparent sign to US President Donald Trump that Britain will step up its efforts to spice up Europe’s safety.

    On the eve of his departure to satisfy Trump in Washington, Starmer informed parliament he was bringing the rise in defence spending ahead to supply Europe extra assist because the US spearheads peace talks with Russia over its war in Ukraine.
