Trump has repeatedly criticised Denmark – a NATO ally – for, in his view, not doing sufficient to make sure Greenland’s safety.
The US president has pursued that argument, regardless of strategically situated Greenland – as a part of Denmark – being coated by NATO’s safety umbrella.
The top of Denmark’s Joint Arctic Command, Main Normal Soren Andersen, mentioned the US have been invited to the navy mission, which he mentioned was “about Russia”.
“When the conflict in Ukraine is over, hopefully with a superb end result for Ukraine, it’s our expectation that Russia will transfer the sources they’ve been utilizing in Ukraine on different theatres, … together with within the Arctic,” he informed AFP.
