I strongly applaud Dr. Steve Overman and Sean Arent for his or her op-ed “An old danger returns: The nuclear arms race is revving up” (Dec. 10, Opinion):
As every of us tries to cope with the overwhelming day-to-day points in our lives, it appears including considerations for nuclear weapons finally ends up fairly far down the listing of priorities. However, as is identified, the monetary prices of additional growth of those weapons, to say nothing of medical penalties if these weapons have been used once more, must enter our psyches.
It’s not onerous to think about that even when a nuclear warfare isn’t deliberately began that people in command of these weapons might make what could be a catastrophic mistake.
On the Peace Park in Hiroshima, the memorial to those that died on Aug. 6, 1945, has this inscription: “Let all of the souls right here relaxation in peace, for we will not repeat the evil.” Please name Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and categorical your hope that they may communicate out for elimination of those immoral weapons relatively than furthering their continuation.
