Re: “Public safety: Military might vs. strategic approaches” (Aug. 13, Northwest Voices):

I realized within the army a vital routine to deal with an injured fellow soldier. Step one is to cease the bleeding. If the bleeding doesn’t cease, the opposite three steps don’t matter.

President Donald Trump has despatched the Nationwide Guard to Washington, D.C., as a result of the management of the nation’s capital metropolis both can’t or won’t adequately tackle the rampant crime within the metropolis that makes the downtown and even some suburban streets unsafe, particularly at evening. It’s not the president’s job to offer jail area or funding for remedial efforts to deal with this crime in D.C. He’s making an attempt to cease the bleeding.
