ISTANBUL: A missile launched from Iran, heading in direction of Turkish airspace via Iraq and Syria, has been destroyed by NATO air defence techniques, Turkish officers mentioned on Wednesday (Mar 4).
“A ballistic munition launched from Iran, which was detected passing via Iraqi and Syrian airspace and heading in direction of Turkish airspace, was engaged in a well timed method by NATO air and missile defence property stationed within the japanese Mediterranean and rendered inactive,” the defence ministry mentioned in a press release.
“The munitions fragment that fell within the Dortyol district of Hatay province was recognized as belonging to the air defence munitions that intercepted the risk after it was destroyed within the air,” the ministry mentioned, including there have been no casualties.
