Re: “Democrats: Rep. Adam Smith should focus elsewhere” (March 25, Northwest Voices):
I disagree with the letter author who is ready to clearly establish id politics on the precise but ignores the exact same affliction of the left.
Sure, we on the left drank the id politics Kool-Assist and promoted it to the purpose of belittling anybody not “woke.” We speak about range, fairness and inclusion, and we made the “I” in DEI our weapon, excluding everybody who couldn’t get on board with pronouns, and many others.
Our compassion has been absent, and we’re on a superiority march. We are saying it’s as a result of too many had been persecuted, left behind. I agree. It’s flawed. However the path is restoring dignity, not turning all of it right into a battle like there isn’t sufficient dignity for all. We misplaced the election as a result of we did look down on others, as folks, even earlier than they voted.
I’m 100% with the pathways of all who’ve been “othered,” and even now should select a “start intercourse.” We can’t “different” neighbors as a nation. However Rep. Adam Smith is true. Rep. Pramila Jayapal stated we misplaced on economics. It was id. We are going to hold dropping so long as we glance down on others. Dignity for one another will align us.
