The pinnacle of the UN’s Worldwide Atomic Vitality Company (IAEA) has introduced an “emergency assembly” on the organisation’s headquarters in Vienna for Monday (Jun 23) after the US struck Iranian nuclear sites.
After US President Donald Trump determined to affix Israel’s marketing campaign towards Tehran’s atomic programme, the US on Sunday bombarded three nuclear websites in Iran, together with a uranium-enriching facility at Fordo situated 90 metres underground.
“In mild of the pressing scenario in Iran, I’m convening an emergency assembly of the @IAEAorg Board of Governors for tomorrow,” Rafael Grossi wrote on X on Sunday.
The assembly will begin at 10am (4pm, Singapore time) on the company’s Vienna headquarters.
Trump stated the US air strikes, which he stated have been aimed toward stopping Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb, although Tehran fiercely denies wanting to take action, “completely obliterated” the Islamic republic’s primary atomic websites.
