Justice Clarence Thomas’ opinion that banning assault weapons could also be unconstitutional is simply incorrect pondering. There isn’t a Second Modification violation right here. Weapons aren’t being banned, solely sure forms of weapons. That is no completely different than proscribing free speech. The well being and security of residents outweigh any unfettered freedom afforded by the Structure.
The truth that the AR-15 is so in style when it’s designed for killing individuals with most effectivity and has been persistently used for mass homicide must be a wake-up name for all of us.
