AMSTERDAM: Air visitors at Eindhoven airport within the south of the Netherlands was suspended for a number of hours on Saturday (Nov 22) night as a consequence of a number of drone sightings, Dutch defence minister Ruben Brekelmans mentioned in a put up on X.
Site visitors resumed round 11pm native time, Brekelmans mentioned, two hours after he had first reported the disruption.
“Defence has taken measures,” the minister mentioned. “Out of safety concerns no additional info may be shared.”
The Dutch army on Friday night had used weapons in opposition to drones sighted above the air pressure base in Volkel, some 40km northeast of Eindhoven, the defence ministry had mentioned earlier on Saturday.
Eindhoven serves each as a civilian and as a army airport. All forms of air visitors had been suspended, Brekelmans mentioned.
Requested if it was clear the place the drones had come from, the defence ministry had no further remark.
