Some appeared with sheets of clean white paper, instead of conventional protest indicators, as a criticism of the censorship limiting residents from talking freely.

    After the fire in Xinjiang that left at least 10 people dead, which critics say was as a result of stay-at-home measures that resulted within the constructing’s doorways being locked, protests intensified Sunday.
