Re: “Pentagon to pay Boeing $8.6B for F-15s bound for Israel | New contract | Deal for 25 fighters ignites concerns about ties to Gaza violence” (Dec. 31, A1):
I’d prefer to counsel a distinct subhead: “Deal for 25 fighters will assist Israel defend itself in opposition to Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, which have sworn to destroy Israel and eliminate its Jewish inhabitants.” The story quotes “opponents to Israel’s conflict in opposition to Hamas,” the Gaza Well being Ministry (managed by Hamas) and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a self-described Muslim civil rights group that truly devotes itself to undermining assist for Israel.
How about mentioning that perhaps, simply perhaps, Israel wants the fighters to defend itself in opposition to forces which have been pledging to destroy it and proceed to take action — simply learn what Hamas and Iran have been saying recently.
