Britain final yr sweltered by way of its hottest summer time on file with a imply temperature of 16.10C, surpassing the earlier file of 15.76C set in 2018.
The present common temperature for the summer time, from Jun 1 to Aug 10, was already at 16.48C, the Met stated.
“One other record-breaking summer time now seems to be more and more probably for the UK, following the second-warmest June, and second-warmest July on file and yet one more heatwave imminent,” stated Met senior scientist Mike Kendon stated.
