Trump Says He Will Converse with Taiwan’s President About Arms Deal

President Trump stated that he would speak to Taiwan’s president a couple of potential weapons sale to the self-governing democracy. Direct dialogue would anger China, which claims Taiwan as its territory and opposes contact between Taiwanese and overseas leaders.

“Properly, I’ll converse to him. I converse to everyone. We have now that state of affairs very effectively in hand. We had an incredible assembly with President Xi [of China]. It was superb, really, it was superb. A lot of you had been there. We’ll work on that, the Taiwan downside.”
