    NEW DELHI: India condemned strikes on vitality services within the Gulf as “unacceptable” on Thursday (Mar 19), warning they danger worsening international vitality flows.

    Iran hit the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Qatar on Thursday in retaliation for an Israeli assault on its South Pars gas field.

    The assault on Qatar’s Ras Laffan facility has stoked fears of wider disruptions to gasoline provides, together with for India, which depends on Qatar for over 40 per cent of its LNG wants – essential for energy technology, business, fertiliser manufacturing and family cooking.

    The newest strikes have been “unacceptable and have to stop”, India’s overseas ministry stated, reiterating New Delhi’s name to keep away from focusing on vitality infrastructure.

    “Current assaults towards vitality installations in several areas throughout this area are … deeply disturbing and solely serve to additional destabilise an already unsure vitality state of affairs for the entire world,” it stated in an announcement. 

    With fuel shipments already diminished, New Delhi fears a recent provide crunch, rising prices and deeper financial pressure throughout sectors depending on regular imports.

    Qatar is likely one of the world’s prime LNG producers, alongside america, Australia and Russia.
