    Australia police intercept cars after tip on possible ‘violent act’

    SYDNEY: Australian police stated Thursday (Dec 18) that they had intercepted two vehicles in Sydney after receiving a tip {that a} “violent act was probably being deliberate”.

    Tactical officers swooped on the automobiles as they handed by means of Liverpool, a suburb of southwest Sydney.

    In accordance with Australian media, the boys within the car had been believed to have been on their option to Bondi Seaside.

    A bunch of males was seen detained on the sidewalk with their arms zip-tied.

    “At this cut-off date, police haven’t recognized any connection to the present police investigation of the Bondi terror assault,” New South Wales state police stated in a press release.

    “As investigations proceed, seven males are aiding police with their inquiries.” 

    Australia is on heightened alert after 15 individuals had been killed in a mass shooting at Bondi Beach on Sunday night throughout a Jewish celebration.

    Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated on Thursday that Australia will introduce legislation that makes it simpler to cost individuals selling hate speech and violence, in addition to improve penalties and develop a regime for concentrating on organisations whose leaders have interaction in hate speech.

    Police allege the assault was carried out by Sajid Akram, 50, and his 24-year-old son Naveed. Sajid was shot lifeless by police on the scene, whereas Naveed Akram was charged with 59 offences on Wednesday after waking from a coma, together with homicide and terror costs.
