    Ukraine says Russian drone attack hit civilian Turkish vessel

    KYIV: Ukraine’s navy accused Russia of deliberately attacking a civilian Turkish vessel carrying sunflower oil to Egypt with a drone on Saturday (Dec 13), a day after Moscow hit two Ukrainian ports.

    In a press release on Telegram, the navy stated the vessel, known as the Viva, had 11 Turkish residents on board. It added that no one was damage and the vessel was persevering with its journey to Egypt.

    “The strike was carried out within the open sea in Ukraine’s unique financial zone, exterior the vary of Ukrainian air defence techniques,” the assertion stated, accusing Russia of breaching maritime legal guidelines.

    The navy stated it was involved with the ship’s captain.

    On Friday, Russia attacked two Ukrainian ports, damaging three Turkish-owned vessels, in response to Ukraine’s navy. A big hearth broke out on a type of ships.

    The assaults come after Moscow threatened to “lower Ukraine off from the ocean” after Kyiv’s assaults broken three ‘shadow fleet’ tankers heading to Russia to export its oil.
