    Homelessness: ‘Discredited politics run rampant’

Re: “Seattle’s homelessness response in peril as Trump aims at ‘Housing First’ ” (Nov. 17, Mission Homeless):

Once more completely disregarding evidence-based info, the Trump regime goes in opposition to all that we all know that works for getting so many homeless individuals out of despair and right into a future that may work for them: A roof over their head and a spot of their very own. I meet day by day as soon as “regular” individuals who, being unhoused, have turned to self medicating to ease their state of affairs. Medication? Alcohol? These of us with housing do it continually behind closed doorways.

Just like the Trump regime’s assault on immunization, homeless-repair proof has no weight. Local weather-change tied proof has no weight. Assist for these combating poverty apparently has no weight. Discredited politics run rampant.

These federal cuts for housing are going to make Seattle’s homeless state of affairs a lot worse.

    Judith Hansen, Seattle
