    Trump and Japan’s New Prime Minister Commerce Compliments

    Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan welcomed President Trump to a gold-gilded palace in Tokyo on Tuesday. Whereas they traded niceties, there was little progress on commerce talks.

    “Mr. President, welcome again to Japan.” “You’ll be one of many nice prime ministers. … That’s a giant deal.” “Shinzo Abe was an incredible buddy of mine. … However he spoke so nicely of you.”

    Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi of Japan welcomed President Trump to a gold-gilded palace in Tokyo on Tuesday. Whereas they traded niceties, there was little progress on commerce talks.
