    US expects flight delays to worsen as controllers miss paychecks

    PHILADELPHIA: US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy mentioned Friday (Oct 24) he expects extra flight delays as air visitors controllers put together to overlook their first paychecks, with the federal government shutdown now stretching into its twenty fourth day.

    Some 13,000 air visitors controllers and about 50,000 Transportation Safety Administration officers are working with out pay through the shutdown. Controllers will miss their first full paycheck on Tuesday.
