Re: “Socialism offers what’s wrong with capitalism” (Oct. 11, Northwest Voices):

To the letter author: Inform me concerning the “respectable lives” lived by folks in China or Cuba. It sounds nice to pressure the rich to help “odd” folks, however who’s to dole out the riches? Are they virtuous? Are they fraudsters?

The issue is the individuals who run such an economic system are corruptible. If we should always plunge the economic system into full socialism, how way more corruption will we get?

Face it: Capitalism has already improved the lives of everybody to an extent as soon as thought unimaginable. What do the wealthy do with their wealth? By investing in firms, they create jobs.
