    MOSCOW DENIES RESPONSIBILITY

Moscow denied duty for the incident, with a senior diplomat in Poland saying the drones had come from the route of Ukraine. Russia’s Defence Ministry stated its drones had carried out a significant assault on army services in western Ukraine, but it surely had not deliberate to hit any targets in Poland.

US President Donald Trump spoke with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, a conservative nationalist and political ally whom Trump hosted on the White Home final week. “This dialog is a part of a collection of consultations I have been conducting with our allies,” Nawrocki stated in a put up on X. “At this time’s talks reaffirmed our unity.”

Forward of the cellphone name, Trump posted on social media: “What’s with Russia violating Poland’s airspace with drones? Right here we go!” He didn’t elaborate.

The leaders of France, Britain, Germany, and Canada had been among the many NATO leaders to sentence the suspected Russian incursion in robust phrases.

European leaders, who’ve been attempting to influence Trump to hitch them in tightening sanctions on Russia and boosting help for Kyiv, stated it justified a collective response.

Poland stated 19 objects had entered its airspace throughout a big Russian air assault on Ukraine, and that it had shot down these posing a menace.

Tusk known as the incident a “large-scale provocation” and stated he had activated Article 4 of NATO’s treaty, below which alliance members can demand consultations with their allies.
