Sanctuary law: One crime is one crime too many

Re: “Ferguson says he won’t be ‘bullied’ by Trump threats over sanctuary law” (Aug. 19, Native Information):

Gov. Bob Ferguson’s major duty is maintaining Washington residents secure. Are we secure in a sanctuary state the place migrants and criminals who entered the nation illegally are allowed to settle?

On Aug. 5, the Division of Justice printed an inventory of states, cities and counties it recognized as sanctuary jurisdictions, together with Washington state and Seattle. In accordance with the Heritage Basis, crime (homicide, rape, assault in opposition to kids and others) dedicated by immigrants in america illegally is widespread.

Gov. Ferguson isn’t being bullied by U.S. Lawyer Normal Pam Bondi, and he or she isn’t asking anybody to “bend the knee.” Individuals are being severely harmed, and Ferguson refuses to assist a Trump administration coverage for the nice of all Washingtonians. There are state and native police and sheriffs who’re squarely behind President Donald Trump. Mayor Burce Harrell has mentioned that Seattle is “a welcoming metropolis for all” — criminals too?

These officers must develop up and recover from their “Trump derangement syndrome.” And it doesn’t matter that immigrants commit crime at a decrease charge than those that are native born. They’re right here illegally and one crime in opposition to our residents is one too many. Sanctuary jurisdictions want to finish.
