    Iran holds military drills after big losses in war with Israel

    DUBAI: Iran on Thursday (Aug 21) launched its first solo army workout routines since its June struggle with Israel, state media reported, looking for to reassert an image of strength after struggling heavy losses.

    Navy models of Iran’s common armed forces fired missiles and drones at open water targets within the Indian Ocean beneath the “Sustainable Energy 1404” drill, state tv reported.

    “These drills happen round a month after the Iran-Russia drill beneath the title Casarex 2025 which befell in Iran’s northern waters (Caspian Sea). The Sustainable Energy drills…are in Iran’s southern waters,” state TV mentioned.

    Israel attacked Iran in a 12-day air struggle which the United States briefly joined, pounding key nuclear installations and killing high army commanders and nuclear scientists.

    Israel largely destroyed Iran’s air defences throughout the struggle and far of its stockpile of ballistic weapons is believed to have been broken by Israeli strikes.

    Since then, the Islamic Republic has mentioned it’s ready to counter any future attacks.

    “Any new journey by the enemy will probably be confronted with a powerful slap,” the Defence Ministry mentioned in a press release on Thursday.

    US President Donald Trump has threatened to strike Iran again if it revives nuclear services together with uranium enrichment crops.

    Tehran suspended negotiations with Washington geared toward curbing the nation’s nuclear ambitions after the Israeli and US airstrikes. Iran denies any intent to develop atomic bombs.

    Iran believes the second for “efficient” nuclear talks with the US has not but arrived, its high diplomat mentioned on Wednesday, although Tehran would not completely cut off cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
