    WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump stated on Monday (Aug 4) he’ll considerably elevate tariffs on India over its purchases of Russian oil.

    “India shouldn’t be solely shopping for large quantities of Russian oil, they’re then, for a lot of the oil bought, promoting it on the open marketplace for massive income. They don’t care how many individuals in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian warfare machine,” Trump stated in a publish on Fact Social.

    “Due to this, I might be considerably elevating the Tariff paid by India to the USA.”

    He didn’t elaborate on what the tariff could be.

    Trump final week stated he would impose a 25 per cent tariff on items imported from India and added that the world’s fifth-largest economic system would additionally face an unspecified penalty however gave no particulars.

    Over the weekend, two Indian authorities sources informed Reuters that India will keep purchasing oil from Russia regardless of Trump’s threats. The sources didn’t want to be recognized as a result of sensitivity of the matter.
